Luke | West Bottoms and Downtown Kansas City High School Senior
I've known Luke forever, so when he wanted me to take his high school senior pictures I was ecstatic! There were so many different locations he wanted, plus the colors changing on the autumn leaves, that we decided we would need to break up his pictures into three different session.
Luke wanted a very urban feel for his first senior session, so we went to the West Bottoms and some mural walls in downtown Kansas City. It seems like these locations are underused for senior pictures, and I'm not sure why, because these pictures turned out amazing! His choice of an unbutton denim long sleeve, grey t-shirt, and black jeans worked with each backdrop we came across.
If you have never been to the West Bottoms or seen some of the mural walls in KC, know that around each corner or even just a few feet the backdrop changes drastically. This is why a classic and more neutral look worked well with every area! Luke is adventurous so he was all for finding a way to work the different doorways, stairwells, and loading docks into the pictures.
Even though street murals can change often, using them as a background often gives a very timeless vibe since people have been making street murals for years and will continue to make them for years to come! Not to mention they add rich vibrant colors to the background and are something fun not every senior includes so it made Luke's pictures more unique.
I absolutely loved exploring downtown Kansas City to help make Luke's vision come true!
