Luke | Shawnee Mission Park High School Senior
The next thing Luke wanted for his senior pictures was to have outdoor foresty vibes. In the Midwest the leaves change to such vibrant colors in the fall making it the perfect time to take senior pictures. There are many places with colorful trees, but Shawnee Mission Park was the place we decided on since it has so much variety in backdrop like creek beds, the lake, and golden fields. It will look like you have gone to five or six different locations, when it's really just one.
We started the session in this creek bed near some hiking trails. It had some great greens which hadn't changed for the fall yet and the rustic bridge over the creek bed. Next we wandered to this gorgeous golden field where a nice Kansas breeze gave beautiful movement in the field. Next Luke suggested the lake, which was perfect with the light shimmering off of it and you could see more of the trees changing color in the background.
We wanted a bit more variety in color so we searched and searched for a sugar maple, which turn crimson in the fall. I think everyone would agree, it was worth the search. There was a bed of these red leaves on the ground which Luke happily laid down in. The white of his shirt was the perfect contrast and ended up being some of my favorite images from the shoot that day.
I loved the variety and vibrance this whole shoot had!
