Luke | Prairie Fire, Nelson-Atkins Art Museum, and Country Club Plaza High School Senior
For Luke's final high school senior picture session he wanted a classy downtown vibe, so we chose Prairie Fire, the Nelson-Atkins Art Museum, and the Country Club Plaza. If you are in the Kansas City area and don't know where to take you senior pictures (even family or engagement pics), these are fabulous locations!
We started our session at Prairie Fire. I loved the way Luke's dark outfit contrasted against the bright colors of the building and made him stand out. I mean Prairie Fire is an ABSOLUTELY stunning building!! Like, gah! Such rich vibrant colors! If this is your last location of a shoot, it's the perfect spot to go inside and explore the museum including seeing the dinosour bones!
Next we went to the Nelson. This seems to be an absolute staple for those in Kansas City wanting their pictures taken. Honestly, it has such variety on the grounds that it looks like you went to multiple locations with just going to one. It has giant columns, gardens with walkways and benches, and amazing artwork. The most recognizable and iconic pieces of artwork are the giant shuttlecocks scattered in front of the Nelson-Atkins, so of course we had to include it in a few shots.
Finally we made our way to the Country Club Plaza. No senior session is complete without pictures on the mosaic Valencia Grand Staircase. There are beautiful buildings, mosaics, and fountains scattered throughout the Plaza, but there is something about these stairs with the iron gate that screams Kansas City.
I'm so glad Luke had these three different sessions to get well rounded and authentic Kansas City senior pictures!
